Hello, I am Zoey Bray. I recently graduated from Pittsburg State University with a Bachelor of
Science and Technology.
My major was Graphic Communications with an emphasis in Graphic Design.
I am a Data Manager for the Sheldon Alumni Association, updating and organizing their database.
In my free time, I enjoy artistic hobbies like painting and drawing.
Ever since high school, I knew I wanted to be a graphic designer. Classes and clubs like Yearbook,
Art, Business, Future Business Leaders of America, and Upward Bound inspired me to design.
In Yearbook, I did graphic and layout design, basic photography, written content creation, and
worked with my fellow staff members to meet deadlines.
Art classes sparked more of my creativity by experiencing new art forms.
Business classes and FBLA exposed me to the business world, where I found some success.
I went on to win some competitions and got to travel to new places.
At Upward Bound, I was the Chief Marketing Officer for a small candy business. I created social
media advertisements, sell candy to people on and off campus, design a menu of candy items
and prices for customer convenience, and more.
By the end of the summer, my business sold the most candy over to the other candy
business. All of these amazing opportunities made me fall even more in love with graphic design.
Pittsburg State University is also has played an essential part in pursuing graphic design.
Since coming to PSU, I have expanded/improved my skill set, worked on various group projects,
presented my work and networked with people in clubs and the classroom.
These experiences have led me to graphic design work.
In my graphic design class, everyone had to design a series of logo designs for a real client.
We reviewed each other’s work and refined our own to present to the client.
I also designed channel elements for Twitch Streamer Prime66. Now, he has gained at least 10
followers and is close to becoming a Twitch Affiliate.
My flyer work with a burger shack called Nic Nak lead to a big turn out for their Easter event.
My academic and work experience has helped me in become a better graphic designer.
